Modern Warfare 3 is a first-person shooter video game. And will run at 60 frames per second, minimum. Activision confirmed that Modern Warfare 3 on the PC will have dedicated servers support. The game will immediately follow the events of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, where the Russian Federation continues its invasion of the United States of America, and has also expanded its offensive to Europe, including England, France and Germany. Campaign stages are also planned for Somalia, Sierra Leone, Moscow and Dubai. The trailer also showed Delta Force soldiers helping Navy Seal Teams force a Russian submarine to surface in the East River and boarding it to destroy the other boats in the harbor. Later on, Delta Force soldiers are on a mission to destroy a radar jamming installation on top of the New York Stock Exchange
The player assumes the role of various characters during the single-player campaign, changing perspectives throughout the progression of the story. Each level is a mission that features a series of objectives that are displayed on the heads up display, which marks the direction and distance towards and from such objectives. Damage to the player is shown by blood shown on the screen. The player's health regenerates as time passes. Tasks vary in their requirements, having the player arrive at a particular checkpoint, eliminate enemies in a specified location, stand their ground to defend an objective, or plant explosive charges on an enemy installation. The player will be accompanied by troops who cannot be issued orders.
Modern Warfare 3 will feature a new Survival Mode. Survival Mode features one to two players fighting endless waves of enemies with each wave getting more difficult. Despite being much compared to the World at War Nazi Zombies mode, enemies do not spawn at fixed locations like the zombies do, but instead, at tactical positions based on the current location of the player. The mode will be available on all multiplayer maps in the game and in the mode, players can earn "cash" for items such as weapons, upgrades and ammo
Streaks now come in the form of classes. Depending on if you choose Assault, Support or Specialist, you'll gain access to different kill streaks and perks to unlock during your time in battle. You'll still find many of your favorites, but the Specialist Strike Package simply receives perks as its reward.
Love your favorite gun? Prove it by leveling it up alongside your character and unlocking different proficiencies such as lowering the kick, steadying the aim, and gaining additional attachment slots.
Objectives are Kills Too:
Well, not exactly, but assists and hitting objectives will add to your streak count if you choose the Support Strike Package. You'll nab quick streaks for helping the team as opposed to killing everyone in sight.
Kill Confirmed is a new mode that required players to collect dog tags from players they've killed. If the enemy gets the dog tags first, the kill doesn't count (and vice versa). This kill and collect mode forces you to consider where you're laying bodies down and if it's safe to run an grab your trophy. Kill and death stats are significantly lower in this mode.
Now you can jump into a Juggernaut suit and tackle your favorite multiplayer map. For a streak of 17 you can hop into the gunner seat of an Osprey as the helicopter drops supply crates around the map. Trick your enemies with booby-trapped supply crates. These are just a few of the options available to players via different Strike Packages.
No More Nukes or Shotguns as Secondaries:
The developer's goal is to bring Modern Warfare 3 back to the guns. This means no nukes ending a match and no over-the-top powers that sway the balance. As a side note, diving to ground from Black Ops has disappeared.
If you level up your weapon far enough, you'll nab the option to slap a second scope on it. Shoot the way you want to shoot by flipping between two styles of scopes.
Pick yourself up a Bouncing Betty and witness some surprise explosions when this little mine pops into the air and explodes.
